‎INHR Opens Applications for Official Spokespersons Across Lebanon’s Five Governorates

‎The Office of the Director and Editor-in-Chief of the International News Agency for Human Rights (INHR) announced the opening of applications across Lebanon’s five governorates for the position of “INHR Spokesperson.”
‎
‎The initiative forms part of the Agency’s efforts to strengthen its media and institutional presence across Lebanon, expand professional participation in its work, and establish a more structured and effective communication mechanism with the media, public institutions, human rights organizations, and the public.
‎
‎According to the Office of the Director and Editor-in-Chief, the appointed spokespersons will serve as official media references authorized to announce statements, positions, and official communications concerning the President of the Agency, as well as to communicate the official positions issued by the Office of the Director and Editor-in-Chief.
‎
‎This mechanism is intended to ensure accuracy, consistency, credibility, and clarity in the Agency’s official communications, while preventing confusion between personal views and positions formally issued on behalf of INHR.
‎
‎The Office further stated that the initiative is designed to create greater opportunities for qualified journalists, media professionals, human rights advocates, and individuals with relevant professional expertise to contribute to the Agency’s work from different regions of Lebanon.
‎
‎The Agency emphasized that broader participation should also contribute to constructive pluralism and diversity of perspectives, provided that such participation remains grounded in professionalism, objectivity, independence, respect for human rights, the rule of law, and responsible journalism.
‎
‎The Office of the Director and Editor-in-Chief further noted that the Lebanese initiative is intended to serve as a pilot institutional experience. If successfully implemented, the model could be expanded considerably throughout the Middle East and other countries where INHR is present or maintains professional and institutional activities.
‎
‎Such expansion would enable the Agency to develop a broader network of professional media representatives capable of following human rights developments at the local level, facilitating direct communication with communities and institutions, and ensuring that important developments and official positions are communicated promptly and accurately.
‎
‎The Agency stressed that the appointment of any INHR Spokesperson will be subject to professional and institutional criteria, including competence, credibility, relevant media or human rights experience, communication skills, and the ability to adhere to the Agency’s institutional standards and official mandate.
‎
‎The designation of an INHR Spokesperson is an institutional responsibility and does not authorize the holder to issue personal opinions as official Agency positions or to act beyond the specific mandate and authority granted by INHR.
‎
‎The Office of the Director and Editor-in-Chief concluded by stressing that the initiative represents an important first step toward developing a wider, more diverse, and professionally structured international media network for INHR.
‎
‎The Agency believes that a successful Lebanese experience could become the foundation for a broader regional and international model, allowing qualified professionals in the Middle East and beyond to participate in advancing responsible human rights journalism, strengthening public dialogue, and giving greater visibility to issues concerning human dignity, fundamental freedoms, justice, and the rule of law.
