Bou-Said Condemns Targeting of UNIFIL in Maroun al-Ras, Calls for Accountability Under International Law
أبو سعيد يدين استهداف قوات اليونيفيل في مارون الراس ويدعو إلى محاسبة المعتدين
أدان بشدّة الممثل الأعلى للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان المعتمد من الأمم المتحدة بصفة خاصة “إيكوسوك” ورئيس بعثتها إلى جنيف، الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد، استهداف الجيش الإسرائيلي لقوات اليونيفيل اليوم أثناء أدائها مهامها مع الجيش اللبناني لتأمين الحماية للعمال المدنيين في بلدة مارون الراس.
وأشار الدكتور أبو سعيد إلى أن هذه الاعتداءات ليست المرة الأولى التي تحصل، مؤكداً أنه يجب أن تتوقف فوراً وأن يتم محاسبة المعتدين وفق القانون الدولي، لما تشكّله من انتهاك صارخ للمواثيق الدولية والقرارات الأممية ذات الصلة.
Dr. Haissam Bou-Said, High Representative of the International Council for Human Rights accredited by the United Nations (ECOSOC) and Head of its Mission to Geneva, strongly condemned today’s targeting of UNIFIL forces by the Israeli army while they were carrying out their duties alongside the Lebanese army to ensure the protection of civilian workers in the town of Maroun al-Ras.
Dr. Bou-Said noted that these attacks are not the first of their kind, stressing that they must come to an immediate end and that those responsible should be held accountable under international law, as such actions constitute a blatant violation of international conventions and relevant UN resolutions.
