Dr. Haissam Bou Said: No Place for Religious Extremism in the Work of the International Council for Human Rights; Priority for Secular and Inclusive Governance
الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد: لا مكان للتشدد الديني في عمل المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان وأولوية لتطبيق مبدأ العلمنة الفكرية
في مداخلة مع وكالة الأنباء الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، أكد الممثل الأعلى لشؤون الخارجية للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان المعتمد من الأمم المتحدة بصفة خاصة (إيكوسوك) ورئيس بعثتها إلى جنيف، الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد، أن آليات عمل المجلس في الملفات الساخنة تُدار وفق القوانين الدولية المرعية الإجراء، وبعيدًا عن أي اعتبارات دينية أو مذهبية.
وأشار الدكتور بو سعيد إلى أن المجلس لا يرى أي مجال للتشدد الإسلامي أو المسيحي في مسار عمله، بل يمنح الأولوية لاعتماد نظام العلمنة الفكرية والاجتماعية بين مختلف المكونات، بما يعزز قيم المساواة والانفتاح والتعايش المشترك.
وختم قائلاً إنّه “في حال غيّرت الجهات المعنية قناعاتها الفكرية وتوجهت نحو الوسطية الفكرية وقبول الآخر، فإن المجلس وأعضاءه سيكونون في الطليعة لمساندتها. أما في حال استمرار النهج الإقصائي، فستضيع المسافة الفكرية، ويصعب التوافق مع تلك الرؤى الضيقة”.
In a statement to the International Human Rights News Agency, Dr. Haissam Bou Said, High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the International Human Rights Council (recognized by the United Nations under ECOSOC Special Status) and Head of its Mission to Geneva, emphasized that the Council’s approach to addressing sensitive and conflict-related issues is strictly governed by international legal frameworks.
Dr. Bou Said affirmed that there is no place for Islamic or Christian extremism within the Council’s work, noting that its main priority is to promote a secular and inclusive system that values intellectual openness, equality, and peaceful coexistence among all communities.
He concluded, stating that “if certain groups shift toward intellectual moderation and acceptance of all components of society, the Council will stand at the forefront in supporting them; otherwise, the ideological gap will persist, hindering alignment with such exclusive views.”
