عُقد اليوم اجتماع عبر تطبيق Zoom جمع بين الدكتورة كاثي أثناسيايدس، رئيسة لجنة إشراك المرأة والرجل في المفوضية الدولية لحقوق الإنسان (IHRC) في لبنان، والأب نصر، رئيس الأمانة العامة للمدارس الكاثوليكية، إلى جانب مديري 154 مدرسة كاثوليكية من مختلف المناطق اللبنانية.
وخلال الاجتماع، قدّمت الدكتورة أثناسيايدس عرضًا تفصيليًا حول المؤتمر المقبل لـ نموذج الأمم المتحدة (MUN)، موضحةً أهدافه التعليمية والتربوية ودوره في تعزيز مهارات الحوار، والدبلوماسية، والمشاركة المدنية لدى الطلاب. كما تمّت الإجابة عن جميع استفسارات وأسئلة مديري المدارس المتعلقة بالمشاركة والتنظيم والآليات اللوجستية.
من جهته، أكّد الأب نصر على أهمية مشاركة المدارس الكاثوليكية في لبنان في هذا الحدث الدولي المهم، مشددًا على ضرورة تفعيل دور الإدارات المدرسية في تشجيع الطلاب على الانخراط في المؤتمر والاستفادة من التجربة الغنية التي يقدّمها.
وأشار إلى أنّ المشاركة في نموذج الأمم المتحدة تشكل فرصة لتعزيز الوعي الحقوقي والإنساني لدى الطلاب، وتطوير قدراتهم في التفكير النقدي والقيادة.
وفي ختام الاجتماع، تمّ الاتفاق على إرسال تذكير رسمي إلى جميع المدارس، يتضمّن المنشور التعريفي للمؤتمر واستمارات التسجيل، وذلك لضمان تسهيل عملية مشاركة المدارس في الوقت المحدد.
A Zoom meeting was held today between Dr. Cathy Athanasiades, Head of the Women and Men Engagement Committee of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) in Lebanon, and Père Nasr, Head of the Secrétariat Général des Écoles Catholiques, with the participation of the directors of 154 Catholic schools across Lebanon.
During the meeting, Dr. Athanasiades presented a detailed overview of the upcoming Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, outlining its educational goals and its role in strengthening students’ skills in dialogue, diplomacy, critical thinking, and civic engagement. All questions and inquiries raised by the school directors regarding participation, organization, and logistical procedures were thoroughly addressed.
For his part, Père Nasr emphasized the importance of the participation of Catholic schools in Lebanon in this significant international event, encouraging school administrators to actively promote the conference and motivate students to take part. He highlighted that participation in the MUN represents an important opportunity to enhance students’ awareness of human rights and global issues while developing leadership and communication skills.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that an official follow-up reminder—including the conference brochure and registration forms—would be circulated to all schools to ensure timely and smooth participation.
