The International Secretary General of the International Human Rights Council (IHRC), Dr Haissam Bou-Said, received a report from Dr Sultan concerning the progress and developments of the Model United Nations (MUN) Programme in Türkiye.
The meeting also addressed key administrative matters relating to the IHRC Turkish Chapter, with discussions focusing on organisational arrangements, programme co-ordination, and the development of educational initiatives designed to promote human rights awareness, diplomatic engagement, and youth participation in international affairs.
The meeting was attended by Mr Fadi Azzam, INHR Regional Director for Education in the Middle East, and INHR member Mr Nemat Akoume. Their participation underscored the importance of co-operation between the Council and INHR in advancing educational programmes, strengthening institutional partnerships, and supporting the implementation of initiatives across the region.
The discussions highlighted the importance of further developing the MUN Programme in Türkiye as an educational platform through which young people can gain a deeper understanding of the United Nations system, international diplomacy, human rights principles, and multilateral co-operation.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continued co-ordination and follow-up on administrative and educational matters to support the effective development of the IHRC Turkish Chapter and the successful implementation of its future activities.
تسلّم الأمين العام الدولي للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان (IHRC)، الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد، تقريراً من الدكتور محمد سلطان حول سير العمل والتطورات المتعلقة ببرنامج محاكاة الأمم المتحدة (MUN) في تركيا، وذلك في إطار متابعة البرامج التعليمية والدبلوماسية التي يعمل المجلس على تطويرها.
وتناول اللقاء عدداً من المسائل الإدارية المرتبطة بالفرع التركي للمجلس، حيث جرى البحث في الترتيبات التنظيمية، وآليات تنسيق البرامج، وسبل تطوير المبادرات التعليمية الهادفة إلى تعزيز الوعي بحقوق الإنسان، وترسيخ مفاهيم الدبلوماسية، وتشجيع مشاركة الشباب في الشؤون الدولية.
وحضر اللقاء مدير التعليم الإقليمي للشرق الأوسط في وكالة الأنباء الدولية لحقوق الإنسان (INHR)، السيد فادي عزام، وعضو الوكالة السيد نعمت أكوميه. وشكّلت مشاركتهما مناسبة للتأكيد على أهمية التنسيق والتعاون بين المجلس والوكالة في تطوير البرامج التعليمية، وتعزيز التعاون المؤسسي، ودعم تنفيذ المبادرات والأنشطة في المنطقة.
كما شدّد المجتمعون على أهمية تطوير برنامج محاكاة الأمم المتحدة في تركيا، باعتباره منصة تعليمية تتيح للشباب فرصة التعرّف بصورة أعمق إلى منظومة الأمم المتحدة، وأسس العمل الدبلوماسي، ومبادئ حقوق الإنسان، وآليات التعاون المتعدد الأطراف.
واختُتم اللقاء بالتأكيد على مواصلة التنسيق والمتابعة في الملفات الإدارية والتعليمية، بما يسهم في تعزيز عمل الفرع التركي للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان، وتطوير برامجه، ودعم تنفيذ أنشطته المستقبلية وفق الأهداف المؤسسية للمجلس.
