رأى الممثل الأعلى للشؤون الخارجية في المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان (IHRC) المعتمد لدى الأمم المتحدة بصفة خاصة إيكوسوك ورئيس بعثته إلى جنيف الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد، أن التصريحات الأخيرة لرئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية جوزيف عون بشأن ضرورة اعتماد الحوار الدبلوماسي كمسار أساسي لحل النزاعات والحروب، تمثل توجهاً صائباً وواقعياً في ظل التطورات الأمنية الراهنة.
وأشار بو سعيد إلى أن هذا النهج يكتسب أهمية مضاعفة في ضوء التحديات الميدانية القائمة، وما رافقها من تداعيات إنسانية قاسية طالت شريحة واسعة من اللبنانيين دون أي ذنب، ما يستدعي تحركاً مسؤولاً يرتكز على التهدئة والحلول السياسية.
وأضاف أن كلّاً من الرئيس عون ورئيس الحكومة نواف سلام يدركان بدقة طبيعة المرحلة وتعقيداتها، ويسعيان إلى إدارة الأزمة بحكمة، بهدف إخراج لبنان من تداعياتها الخطيرة، والحفاظ على وحدة المجتمع اللبناني بكل مكوناته، وصون الاستقرار الوطني.
The High Representative for External Affairs of the International Human Rights Council (IHRC), accredited to the United Nations with special consultative status at ECOSOC, and Head of its Mission in Geneva, Dr. Haissam Bou-Said, stated that the recent remarks by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun regarding the necessity of adopting diplomatic dialogue as the primary approach to resolving conflicts and wars represent a sound and pragmatic direction, particularly in light of the ongoing security developments on the ground.
Dr. Bou-Said emphasized that this approach gains heightened importance amid the current field conditions and the severe humanitarian crisis affecting a large segment of the Lebanese population, who have suffered without fault. He stressed that such circumstances require responsible action grounded in de-escalation and political solutions.
He further noted that both President Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam demonstrate a clear understanding of the realities and complexities of the current phase, and are working to steer the country toward safety, preserve Lebanon’s stability, and safeguard all components of its society.
