Academic Cooperation & Protocols
A cooperation protocol was signed between Al-Madina University and the International Human Rights News Agency, aiming to launch educational workshops and study programs on human rights for students and specialists.
The agreement includes updating curricula, organizing lectures and training sessions, with a focus on both national and international human rights laws.
Awareness Activities & Seminars
The Agency organized a seminar at the Lebanese University on the occasion of Human Rights Day, attended by academics, security officials, and state representatives. Discussions included freedom of expression, media responsibility, and legal violations.
The International Human Rights Committee, working in connection with the Agency, tasked a specialized body to prepare a report on prison conditions in Lebanon after reports of suffering among inmates.
An official list of accredited committees: Specialized committees (Freedom Committee, Monitoring Committee, Complaints Committee, Model United Nations).
A detailed annual or multi-year work program outlining goals, priorities, budgets, outputs, monitoring mechanisms, and indicators.
Published reports showing the results of committee work or projects implemented directly by the Agency or in partnership, with evaluation of outcomes.
The Agency is indeed active in awareness-raising, education, academic cooperation, and preparing human rights reports.
However, references to “accredited committees” or a “work program” appear either to be internal and unpublished, still under development, or in need of greater transparency.
For credibility and accountability, the Agency would benefit from publishing an institutional framework that includes:
Names of its committees
Their mandates and members
Work procedures
An annual work plan with clear objectives
