🔴 Breaking | IHRC Warns: Suwayda Violations May Constitute War Crimes

The International Human Rights Council ( IHRC) has issued a strong warning that violations committed in Syria’s Suwayda Governorate since July 2025 may amount to war crimes under international law. According to Dr. Bou-Said, High Representative for External Affairs:
“The available evidence points to serious violations that may meet the legal definition of war crimes under the Rome Conversation, particularly due to the deliberate targeting of civilians and documented cases of intentional killings in the context of an ongoing non-international armed conflict.”
The organization stressed that while the legal classification is not yet final, the gravity and pattern of violations raise serious international concern.
IHRC has formally called on the UN Secretary General Mr. Antonio Guterres and UNHRC President AMB. Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro to take immediate action, including:
1- Launching independent international investigations
2- Ensuring accountability
3- Considering referral to international courts
In a significant move, IHRC confirmed that it has submitted a comprehensive legal report along with a draft international action plan to the United Nations leadership.
The statement underscores growing pressure on the international community to act, amid fears of continued violations and impunity.
أصدر المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان تحذيراً شديد اللهجة من أن الانتهاكات المرتكبة في محافظة السويداء السورية منذ يوليو ٢٠٢٥ قد ترقى إلى جرائم حرب بموجب القانون الدولي.
ووفقاً للدكتور بو سعيد، الممثل السامي للشؤون الخارجية:
“تشير الأدلة المتاحة إلى انتهاكات جسيمة قد تستوفي التعريف القانوني لجرائم الحرب بموجب اتفاقية روما، لا سيما بسبب الاستهداف المتعمد للمدنيين وحالات القتل العمد الموثقة في سياق نزاع مسلح غير دولي مستمر.”
وأكدت المنظمة أنه على الرغم من أن التصنيف القانوني لم يُحسم بعد، إلا أن خطورة الانتهاكات ونمطها يثيران قلقاً دولياً بالغاً.
وقد دعا المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان رسمياً الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، السيد أنطونيو غوتيريش، ورئيس المجلس، السفير. سيدهارتو رضا سوريوديبورو سيتخذ إجراءات فورية، تشمل:
١- إطلاق تحقيقات دولية مستقلة
٢- ضمان المساءلة
٣- النظر في إحالة القضية إلى المحاكم الدولية
وفي خطوة هامة، أكدت اللجنة الدولية لحقوق الإنسان أنها قدمت تقريرًا قانونيًا شاملًا، بالإضافة إلى مسودة خطة عمل دولية، إلى قيادة الأمم المتحدة.
ويؤكد هذا البيان تزايد الضغط على المجتمع الدولي للتحرك، وسط مخاوف من استمرار الانتهاكات والإفلات من العقاب.
