أكد رئيس بعثة المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان (IHRC) المعتمد بصفة خاصة لدى المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للأمم المتحدة (ECOSOC) الدكتور هيثم بو سعيد، أن المعلومات والتوثيقات التي وردت إلى مكتبه تشير إلى أن سلطة الإدارة المؤقتة، عبر أجهزتها الأمنية، قدّمت دعماً واضحاً لتحركات المتظاهرين أمام سفارة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، في خطوة تهدف إلى إيصال رسالة ذات أبعاد سياسية.
وفي مداخلة مع وكالة الأنباء الدولية لحقوق الإنسان هذا الصباح، شدّد على أن ازدواجية المعايير في التعاطي مع مثل هذه الحوادث تُعدّ مسألة خطيرة ومرفوضة، لما لها من تداعيات سلبية على مبادئ العدالة الدولية واحترام العلاقات الدبلوماسية.
وأضاف أن الإمارات العربية المتحدة لطالما قدّمت الدعم والمساعدات في مختلف المجالات، وهو ما يستوجب التقدير والامتنان، مشدداً على أهمية الحفاظ على العلاقات الإيجابية وعدم الزج بها في سياقات توتر أو رسائل سياسية غير بنّاءة.
وختم بالتأكيد على ضرورة احترام البعثات الدبلوماسية والالتزام بالاتفاقيات الدولية ذات الصلة، وعلى رأسها اتفاقية فيينا للعلاقات الدبلوماسية، بما يضمن حماية مقار السفارات وصون كرامتها.
The Head of Mission of the International Human Rights Council (IHRC), accredited in a special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Dr. Haissam Bou-Said affirmed that documentation received by his office indicates that the interim administrative authority, through its security apparatus, provided clear support to demonstrators gathered in front of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, in what appears to be an attempt to convey a political message.
In remarks made this morning to the International News Agency for Human Rights, he stressed that double standards in addressing such incidents are dangerous and strongly condemnable, given their negative implications for international justice and respect for diplomatic norms.
He further noted that the United Arab Emirates has consistently provided support and assistance across various sectors, which merits recognition and appreciation. He emphasized the importance of preserving positive relations and avoiding their exploitation in political tensions or non-constructive messaging.
He concluded by underscoring the necessity of respecting diplomatic missions and adhering to relevant international conventions, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, in order to ensure the protection and dignity of embassy premises.
