استقبل الممثل الإقليمي البيئي لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا في المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان (IHRC) المعتمد لدى الأمم المتحدة، الأستاذ أديب أسعد، السيدين إيلي ديب وطارق قدور من قضاء المنية–الضنية، حيث اطّلع خلال اللقاء على الواقع البيئي في القضاء والتحديات المتزايدة التي تواجهه في ظل الظروف الراهنة.
وتناول البحث سبل تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق المشترك لمعالجة القضايا البيئية الملحّة، لا سيما في ظل اعتبار الملف البيئي أولوية أساسية ضمن برامج عمل المجلس، لما له من تأثير مباشر على صحة الإنسان والتنمية المستدامة.
وفي ختام اللقاء، أعرب الأستاذ أسعد عن شكره للدعوة الموجهة إليه لزيارة القضاء، مؤكداً حرصه على تلبية هذه الدعوة في المستقبل القريب، بهدف الاطلاع ميدانياً على المشكلات البيئية ودعم الجهود الرامية إلى معالجتها.
The Regional Environmental Representative for the Middle East and North Africa at the International Human Rights Council (IHRC), accredited to the United Nations, Mr. Adeeb Assaad, received Mr. Elie Dib and Mr. Tarek Kaddour from the Minieh–Danniyeh District.
During the meeting, Mr. Assaad was briefed on the environmental situation in the district and the key challenges it faces under current conditions. Discussions focused on avenues for strengthening cooperation and coordination to address pressing environmental issues, particularly as environmental protection remains a fundamental priority within the Council’s framework due to its direct impact on public health and sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Assaad expressed his appreciation for the invitation to visit the district and affirmed his intention to accept it in the near future, with the aim of gaining firsthand insight into the environmental challenges and supporting efforts to address them.
